The Marvin K. Peterson Library acts as an academic hub and pathway to a variety of high-quality information resources. It also provides instruction in information literacy for the entire UNH community in order to facilitate success in all teaching, learning, and scholarly pursuits.
The Marvin K. Peterson Library provides many distance services to accommodate our online students. Many of the UNH Library resources have mobile sites or apps that make research on the go easier and faster — anytime, anyplace. Useful databases from Gale, EBSCO, and JSTOR offer free apps for your smartphone or tablet. Downloading these free apps requires a one-time login with your UNH email address where a password will be sent. Other useful websites such as USA.gov, Nature, and WorldCat offer mobile versions of their websites which are easier to navigate and quicker to download on these devices’ smaller screens.
Ask a Librarian offers you a variety of different ways to contact a librarian for assistance including by telephone, in person, by appointment, via e-mail, or through InfoAnytime 24/7 live chat service. Upon request, special one-on-one instruction sessions provide practice in the use of information-retrieval tools and briefings on the resources available for a specific major or program.

Computer Hardware and Software
The University of New Haven has arranged for specialized computer discounts with two premiere vendors, Apple Computer and Dell. Both of these vendors offer education discounts on their product lines as well customized systems. These discounts vary by model, promotional period and other factors, so there is no set discount rate. Purchases made through the Educational Discount programs are strictly between the purchaser and the vendor. Apple and Dell offer extended warranty options that we recommend reviewing and taking advantage of. As a special benefit to our students, UNH offers a free student copy of Microsoft Office and other software products at reduced prices.
